Dear Smithfield,
I am aware that Smithfield Foods has publicly announced that it will not clone animals for food, even if the FDA allows it. As someone who is highly concerned about the tremendous amount of animal suffering involved in cloning, I want to congratulate you for taking such an important stand.
Just because we can clone animals for food, doesn’t mean we should. I find it encouraging that at least Smithfield knows better than to engage in a practice as cruel and unnecessary as cloning.
Sincerely,
